IDFFA Schools Festival Selection

Finalist will be by our judging panel, to be showcased at the Schools Gala screening and awards ceremony. All films selected will receive our ‘Official Selection’ laurel. Below are the time limits for each award category, which includes titles and credits.

(Awarded to the best part-time studio dance film)

(Awarded to the best full-time studio dance film)

(Awarded to the best secondary school dance film)

Best Sub Senior Student Dance Filmmaker Award
(Awarded to the best dance film by a part-time student 13 yrs and above)

Best Senior Student Dance Filmmaker Award
(Awarded to the best dance film by a part-time student 16 yrs and above)

BWP Studios Best Film Production Award
(Awarded to the film with the best film production)


* Full Time Dance and Filmmaking Students (18+) can submit at IDFFA

Award winners will also receive their trophy, the cash prize and the official “Award Winner” laurel to add to the title/credits of their film.

All selected films will become a part of our permanent archive.


1) Dance films of any style will be considered.

2) All schools and studio films have a time limit of of 10 min or under, including title and credits.

3) All student films have a time limit of 5 min including titles and credits.

4) Films must have a production date of January 1, 2017 or later.

5) Submissions accepted via FilmFreeway exclusively.

6) EXHIBITION FORMATS – Selected films will be requested to provide the
highest quality file in MP4 or MOV format for screening.

7) All submissions must have secured permission/s for the music used in your film.
